Kama Taiwan Wood/Metal Blade
The Kama is derived from a traditional agricultural tool, the sickle. These were originally used for harvesting rice fields in Asia. Like many other training weapons that have their origins in farming tools, the Kama evolved from this. The wooden handle is approximately the length of your forearm, and historically, the cutting edge of the metal blade was only on the inside. Today, most Kamas have blunt blades, or the entire Kama is made of wood, making them suitable for training purposes.
Nowadays, Kamas are used in martial arts such as Kobudo, Ninjutsu, and Pencak Silat. In these disciplines, the movements of attack and defense can be simulated using the Kama.
The full wooden handle measures 46 cm in length, and the metal blade is 16 cm long. The metal blade of this Kama is not sharp, allowing for safe training.
In our assortment, we offer various types of Kamas. We sell fully wooden Kamas in three different qualities: Taiwanese, Chinese, and Japanese wood. We also offer Kamas with metal blades, including versions with a sharp blade, and even hard plastic Kamas.
These Kamas are sold in pairs.
