Kama Taiwan per pair
The Kama is derived from a traditional agricultural tool, the sickle. These were originally used for harvesting rice fields in Asia. Like many other training weapons that have their origins in farming tools, the Kama evolved from this. The wooden handle is approximately the length of your forearm, and historically, the cutting edge of the metal blade was only on the inside. Today, most Kamas have blunt blades, or the entire Kama is made of wood, making them suitable for training purposes.
Nowadays, Kamas are used in martial arts such as Kobudo, Ninjutsu, and Pencak Silat. In these disciplines, the movements of attack and defense can be simulated using the Kama.
These wooden Kama's can be used for practising the movements but not really for making contact or sparring. If you want to make full wood-on-wood contact, we would advise to get a pair of Japanese wooden Kama's as these a bit stronger. If you want to be able to do some light sparring we would suggest the Chinese wooden Kama's.
In our assortment we have different Kamas. We can offer the complete wooden Kama in 3 qualities: Taiwanese, Chinese and Japanese wood, but we can also offer Kamas with a metal blade or with a sharp metal blade and even a plastic Kama.
This Kama comes in pairs.
