Muay Thai Groin Protector Rope
This is the rope that you typically receive with the Thai Groin Guard from Muay to keep the tok securely in place during training and competitions. With use, the rope can wear out and break. Since the cup is made of metal, it hardly wears down and can last for a long time, especially with a new piece of rope. Therefore, we also sell the rope separately, so you can enjoy your Muay Groin Guard for an extended period!
Please note! This rope is sold by the meter, so if you put just 1 in your shopping cart, you will receive only 1 meter.
The Thai Groin Guard is usually delivered with the rope attached to the metal, so that the rope sits between the buttocks. You can also tie the rope in another way so that it fits more like a 'shorts' and the rope runs partially outside the buttocks. Unfortunately, the rope will still need to go a bit between the buttocks to ensure that the groin guard stays securely in place. To create the 'shorts', you will need about 2.5 to 3 meters of rope.
To make the 'shorts', start by cutting a piece of rope, approximately 50 cm is sufficient. The guard has 3 holes: one at the bottom and two at the top. Begin by making a secure single knot on one end of the short piece, then pass the short piece from inside to outside through the bottom hole. This will place the knot on the inside of the groin guard. Then create a 'long' loop of about 10-15 cm and tie the end just below the groin guard.
Next, take the long part of the remaining rope and make a secure knot on one end. Then, pass the rope from outside to inside through one of the two remaining holes, again with the knot pointing outward. Then take the other end without a knot and go through the loop we created, and then through the last remaining hole from inside to outside. Finish off by making a secure knot at the end of this last loose end, so you can adjust the waist of the groin guard and easily step in and out of it. Pull on the groin guard, and pull the waist ropes to tighten it properly. Make a nice loop knot so you can easily loosen it after training, and you're ready for use!
