Nunchaku

Nunchaku-do is a sport of which the origin is not quite clear. As far as we know today, the origin is either China or Okinawa. Nunchaku-do is the art of the use or handling of the Nunchaku’s (also known to some as Nunchucks)

There are multiple stories or ideas as to the beginning of the Nunchaku’s. Like a variation of a flail, a development of a hidden weapon that was unrecognizable (like a knife) and even a guard that broke a staff and by connecting it with a chain made his weapon usable again.

In the Netherlands wooden or metal Nunchaku’s are forbidden, but the foam practice Nunchaku’s are of course allowed.
