Fitness

Fitness is a combination of multiple components that can be used separately and together. For example there is cardio, powerlifting, calisthenics and crossfit.

By combining certain techniques or training forms, fitness can be used in addition to just about any other sport (i.e. using power lifting exercises to aid in certain movements or using cardio as a form of endurance training), but you can also see fitness as a separate sport. Nowadays it’s pretty popular to go to the gym to get fit or stay fit.

When you are doing fitness by itself, there usually is a combination of cardio (think of your warming up sessions) and a second form which may be crossfit or just lifting weights. Fitness is also widely used as an aid with revalidations and recovery from injuries.

Every component has it’s own aims and advantages, but in general it’s best to focus on form and making the right movements before you add additional weight.
